Our Mission
The Inter-American Culture and Development Foundation (ICDF) seeks to strengthen cultural development in Latin America and the Caribbean through plans, programs, and projects designed to promote socio-economic sustainable ways of reducing poverty, improving quality-of-life, and achieving greater social equity in the region.

Message from the President
Created by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) as a non-profit organization, the Inter-American Culture and Development Foundation (ICDF) seeks to support cultural development in Latin America and the Caribbean, and to help cultural organizations to become more competitive and sustainable.
The Foundation is currently working to promote innovative programs with direct impact on youth and the community in areas related to cultural heritage, cultural management training, and cultural and creative industries.
Inspired by the dedicated people who support and share our vision, our trustees and staff are working with a high sense of commitment; most of all, we are energized by the diverse, vibrant, and inspiring citizens of the region we serve, and we are certain that with excellence, creativity, and your involvement, we will be able to fulfill our mission.
In closing, I would like to quote John D. Rockefeller Jr. who once said that we should “think of giving not as a duty but as a privilege”. I truly believe that patronage is a valuable and caring partner to non-profit organizations; we value the active participation of individuals and private sector organizations that share our desire to provide opportunities for the majority and improve the quality of life of entire communities through the advancement of culture.
