Cultural organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean face many challenges, including establishment of strategic relationships, promotion of information exchange, and the consequent access to opportunities and funding. The ICDF is committed to helping organizations develop institutional capacities to become more successful, efficient and sustainable.

The ICDF's strategic action areas for capacity building include:

• Technical assistance, including strategic planning, project development, and management and negotiation skills.
• Network building, including the identification of strategic alliances and the establishment of partnerships with governments, the private sector, and non-profit organizations at the regional, national and international levels.
